  • bad fuel pump?

So im driven my car down the freeway and feel a little hesitation and the engine light comes on, kept driving and it was running good and every once in a while would feel a little more hesitation. I get off the freeway and about a mile from my house my car starts running like its not getting consistant fuel/spark. could it possibly be a fuel pump? or....?

also, im going to be needing a walbro 255...would that work on stock injectors?

sure it is not a misfire?

fuel pump has no affect on injectors. walbro's are fine

I know on my 99 maro. When the fuel pump was going bad, the car kept dieing. I heard that it overheats and expands then cools down and tears it down faster. The gas is actually cooling it. So someone said never let it drop a quarter of a tank. But besides that the car would just die and i would sit for a few minutes and it would start again. So yours might not be the fuel pump.

if it was missfiring, how consistent would it be? Like would it come and go, or once it started...it would stay until fixed?

I went and started my car and it seemed to not be missing, but when I rev'ed it it would come down to 1500 and stay there for a second and slowly creep back down to ~1000

I'll work on that, but the obd reader is at my dad's house.

PO303, missfire in cylinder 3. Time to check injector and spark.

well, at this point its fixed.

I went to go take the #3 plug out and the wire was barely hanging on to the boot and then just ripped off. took the wire out and made a new one, put the new wire in and so far so good.

haha...yeah, after reading some of these missfire code threads I was worried. Glad it turned out to be something soo easy. New spark plug wires are added to the list of stuff to do when installing the turbo.
