  • Speedometer stopped working

My speedometer all of a sudden stopped working. Every other gauge works except this one. When I start the car up, the needle moves about a half an inch up,,and doesn't move anymore. My governor still kicks in..so my car knows how fast I'm going, but doesn't want to tell me. What's the problem?

You know if DTC 24 was set by this?

I hope it's that simple. I haven't had time to go through the manual and find out which fuse it is. I assumed there would be a fuse for the entire gauge cluster, not just one for the speedometer?

            What is DTC 24?

Another possibility is that something happened to my recalibrating unit. Would the speedo just stop working if something happened to the module? Or would the speedometer just read inaccurate again?

can you shift out of first... i had this problem and my speedo went dead and i couldnt shift? you have an scu2000 or another recalibrator right? If you loose power to the scu2000 your speedo will go dead. this happened to me, i just had to find a better ground, they are very picky. i'd be willing to bet this is your problem.

It's funny you say that.. I was looking at my gas gauge and at my mileage, because I determine how much gas I have left by my tripometer. My gas gauge was low, and so were the miles on my trip. I just noticed that my tripometer AND odometer are not working either.

So my speedometer, odometer, and tripometer are not functioning. What can the problem be?

I have the Techedge recalibrator from intense-racing. The car shifts fine. Would this unit affect my trip and odometer?

DTC 24 indicates there's something wrong with the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) that's mounted to your transmission. Let's see, if DTC 24 is set, it means you may have to replace your ECM or VSS. Or you may have a grounded circuit. You may have a poor connection at terminal B12. Check the VSS, should be mounted at the rear left hand side of your transmission.

I still dont see it as a problem...unless something else doesnt work...if it shifts fine and your cruise works, your good to go....just let it fly ;)

My cruise control doesn't work..and I like to see how fast I'm going. I also base when I fill up with gas off my tripometer. Those are my three problems..I could care less what the odometer reads.
