Ok. New engine, check...new clutch, check...new radiator, check...SES light, check...wait...

The new engine is installed and running perfectly. Only one thing that came up, and its the P code for the catalytic converter being below threshold. One of 2 things came to mind, either a clogged cat, or a failing O2 sensor. Its the O2 sensor thats after the cat that's setting the system off. Its NOT the engine, or the other O2 sensors would be going off. I'm thinking of 2 things...delete the cat, or simply clean it. My question is should I go ahead with one of those ideas, or does anyone have a better suggestion?

Get rid of it and delete said problem from computer or replace it. Either one would work.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

i took my cat off my 96 and got an extra mile to the gallon and just had the code deleted with an emulator.

I had a po147 code and just replaced my o2 sensor. The next day I had a po303 code that was a misfire in cylinder 3, replaced the wire and all is good.
The po147 code was because #3 was dumping raw fuel into my exhaust. So it wasn't my o2 sensor in the end.

I do have my stock one with 50k on it if you end up needing one though (if needed you can pm me and we can work something out.)...the one I bought was $80 :(

mine was only a code for the o2 sensor after the cat and it was because of a bad sparkplug wire.

Hmm...I just had those replaced...I know it seems unlikely, but could spark wires be defective out of the box?

We've got P0420. Its cylinder 1 misfire, and its a defective wire. I'm going to go get it taken care of today.
