I know I'm probably not the first to figure this out but haven't seen it in any of the old post.
If your headlight doors grind when you shut them off, and you don't have a replacement gear there is an easy way to fix them. Turn on the lights. Unplug the light to be fixed. Remove the nut holding the linkage on and remove the linkage. Using the thumb wheel on top of the motor, rotate the output shaft 180*. Replace the linkage and plug the motor back in. That's it. Simple, easy and quick.
