Me and another guy are trying to see if we can get enough people to respond. We will see if this will become a recall and get our cars fixed for free. Will need everyone's help. Lets do this!

mine definitely ticks, but just about all 3800s do... i don't think it's a model year thing. could be a combination of valve noise or the more odious exhaust leak.
the only ticking i hear are my injectors work'n hard

Guys im only talking about the clicking or ticking noise that comes from under the dash around the glove box area.
Nothing with engine at all. yes it is only 96s that do this, at least from what i know. when i have a few days worth of posts i will print this and send this to GM and see if cant get them to give us a recall.
And yes your door ding is supposed to work with the door open.(hint hint "door" ding) the dinger is in the IBCM unit. my car clicks before it dings, i put th key in and it clicks some more, finally when the ticking stops and i hear the door bell it will start. just recently it is getting to the point wher i dont know if it will even click. i have to try and start it then it will click...then it will start when teh clicking stops.
