  • Wiper etched my winshield

Well, my wiper kinda fell off and the arm etched a nice huge scratch on the winshield (of course on the drivers side). Is there sucha product I can use to "fill" this scratch to make it look less noticable?

Take it to a "novus" type of windshield place. Depending on how big the scratch is they might just do a quick free fix.

Oh, how does one's wiper "kinda fell off"? Did you notice it was gone?

mine did that with the wipers still on..... the metal frame on the wipers made 2 arc-shaped scratches......triple-edge pieces of sh*t!

Exact same thing happened to mine. I had my mom, who owns her own windsheild repair business, buff out my windshield. I didn't get rid of enough of the gash, but it did get rid of those water spot stains. I think you're pretty much stuck with it.

my wipers just etched my windshield, too.
but unfortunately/fortunately a rock hit my windshield and now its cracking kinda bad.

good thing my insurance will replace it for free

My wiper didn't fall off, but the place where you clip it on, it came un-clipped and it was more or less just hanging there and like everyone says, the arm just kinda etches it, wtf is up w/that anyways. It shouldn't be so sharp! Or it should be covered w/rubber or something. This shouldn't happen.

mostly it shouldn't happen... lol yeah, same thinghappened to me. it's a poorly designed interface between the actual blade and the wiper arm. i ended up heating the arm with a torch and bending it slightly so that the wiper blade can't slide out like that.

but there are glass buffing products that you can get from advance or autozone or probably even walmart... i think meguiar's makes one.

Yeah I bent mine in with plyers, then wrapped it tightly in electrical tape, after the 4th or 5th time it happened, it lasted alot longer but still gave me problems... I serioulsy looked into swapping to a 98+ wiper setup...

And say what? They'll probably blame it on your negligence or stupidity. Anyway, for most people I think there would be like a $500 deductible for their insurance co. to replace the whole windshield. I'm not about to pay that much to get rid of a gash.
