  • Lowbeams not working; Help!

Tonight when I turned my headlights on they flashed and went out. All my other lights work except the low beams. Could they have both burned out at the same time? It's only 9 degrees here could that make any difference? One burned out about 5 months ago and I replaced it. I went to 2 places tonight and they are out of the lowbeams! Just wondering what you guys think before I buy 2 new bulbs, they're $25 each. Any ideas?

Have you checked to see if you have burned out a fuse?

Checked. Not a fuse. Plus, I don't think there is a fuse for just the low beams. All the other lights work, parking, fog lights, turn signals, high beams, taillights...

Pull out the low beam bulbs....you can see if they are burnt out.

Bulbs tend to burn out easier in colder weather. Last winter I turned on my fogs in cold weather and they both simultaneously blew. It wasn't a fuse...just the bulbs.

You know I just thought of this. I had a turn signal blow a bunch of times, turns out there was water in there from condensation. Check it.

Thanks guys, I'll check those things. I don't see any condensation in the bulbs, and it is very difficult to see into the headlights on my 96 to see if the bulb is burned out since it is the entire rectangle light and not just the bulb in the middle like on my 01.
I think they probably just blew at the same time but I thought that was very odd especially since one is only 5 months old.
