I have a 96 3.8 camaro and What are the pros and Cons of only using premium gas if the car is stock?

    Re: gas?

there's really no benefit. As long as you put quality regular gas in ur car u will be perfectly fine. there is a difference however between chain gas, and mom + pop gas...

When I was driving 50 miles one way to work 6 days a week I noticed that gas mileage improved. I did a test of each grade a couple tanks and got an average distance and MPG. Personally I got the most distance for my buck out of mid-grade. IIRC I got about 30 more miles to a tank on mid grade but only an additional 10 miles or so on top of that with premium.

Premium keeps the motor cleaner, Valves, injectors, intake track. Bottom line is if you don't pick up enough mileage to make it cost effective to run premium, it's not really worth running it all the time.

I have had to pull timing out of my PCM here and there, to to rid it of all Knock retard on 93 octane. But 93 also let me add timing in places as well (down low).
