Just looked around their site some, never tried it before. Looks like it's almost a sort of overkill, at least for normal driving conditions and daily drivers. Now racing and such could be a different story, but I don't see why this would be so different than Mobil 1 or other brands. For that price, I'd just stick with traditional filters.

uh whats the benefit? I don't really see how a filter could be a "performance" part looks. Clean oil makes you go faster? no
Seems like as long as you change your oil often enough, this wouldn't be an issue. And for $150, I can afford a lot of oil changes.

however, the cost is really the only thing turning me off. I occasionally wish there a midgrade oil filter, not quite this beastly but better then normal when I feel like spending some money on my car. Like maybe $30-40. If they sent me one for free, I'd be glad to try it

ya I dunno, I know I may end up getting one, not sure though. It depends on how much you wanna spend on these type of things. I know pat would be one that might spend the extra cash on one, but it's up to the person

$150+ for an oil filter seems very high to me.

alright i got a purolator manager here with me

pretty much the machining to make that filter costs too much so that is where most of the price is coming from. The actual filter is stainless steel mesh.

If your oil pressure is staying below 80psi, use a Pure One filter. If you are running pressures greater than that you need a racing filter like K&N. Both of these are less expensive and have low restriction, high efficiency, and high capacity.

ok thanks, I was just wondering if it was a good investment or not. How many miles can I get on those filters? I use royal purple and go 10k miles, but switch oil filters every 2.4k miles

Switch oil filter every 2,400 miles!!! What? Really?

They used to say that you can change your oil but leave in the oil filter for every other oil change.

I like how on the trufilter website they compare their product to my favorite brand filter, the champion made Supertech in the video. What I'd like to know is how fine a particle their filter can catch. The Supertech is rated quite highly in that department, also the number of pleats it has (surface area). I'd wait before investing in it for some independent run lab tests.

royal purple reccomends the filter to be changed every 3-4k miles. I'm a little paranoid lol. It only takes 5 seconds anyways in our cars
