It would be normal if you did a lot of short driving trips where the engine doesn't really get up to operating temp. Are your commutes just a few miles? As the engines warm up they burn off condensation in the oil, however if your oil doesn't get hot enough to burn off the condensation, it collects under the valve covers etc. This is one reason why folks tell you not to store an engine without changing the oil first. Does this happen after longer trips? If it happens after long trips, then you have a problem.
