For a while the ses light had been cutting on and off. Today it happen to come on near the dealership so I stopped to see how much it would be to have them check it. $45. No way am I going to pay that. Is there something else I can do short of buying my on code reader?

Pay $50 and never have to pay anyone to check it again. I have this and it works great...it will work on all cars with OBDII no matter what make or model.98 Bright Red Camaro
Too many mods to list....check my website

You guys are lucky for getting a $45-$50 quote. Here in Philly, them jerks want $70 to scan the cars. Screw that! I bought the OBD II scanner for $50 on ebay, and that's one of the best investments I have made on the car so far.

Very true....you CAN go to autozone and get your codes scanned out for you. But, let me assure you...all there goal is, is to sell you a part you may not need. Just because your code tells you one thing....its not "in stone" the actual problem. For instance, a code might say your egr is bad, so autozone tries to sell you an egr valve. Could just be loose connections or some other minor problem. The reason that shops are so expensive to scan your codes is because they are using cpu's like tech 2's or snapon scanners that acutally let them test things like sensors or actuators on the car. And them badboys cost thoudands of $$$. Autozone's scanners cant do that. Not knocking the zone or anything, but just cause your "throwing a code" dont assume that its exactly what the code says it is. You may just end up replacing a part and fixing it, or you might just end up chasing your tail. Good luck to all though, just trying to offer a different perspective.http://www.cardomain.com/id/y87inside

dude 45 bucks is nothing. i went to 4 or 5 places, each wanted from 70-900 just to scan the goddamn thing.
and autozone doesnt do free scans anymore in california due to some new ruling.I guess I\'d have answer your question with another question.

How many Abidiginals do you see in modeling??????

headers, 3inch magnaflow cat, Loudmouth
99 Midnight Blue Firebird
3.8L A4
