Allright, I did a search, and I asked a few people before I decided to post. My problem is described in the topic. I have no cruise control. I have a 1999 Camaro with an automatic transmission. I checked the fuse, it's fine. I checked the 3rd brake light, it's fine. I had a few fuses out in the dash, and put them back fine. I may re-check them and see if any are out of place. I was under the dash on the drivers side of the car. There are two (white) sensors on the brake pedal. I had both of those sensors off. The lower sensor controls when the brake lights come on and controls when you can take the car out of gear (auto). The upper sensor, I don't know about, but I messed it up. I adjusted the lower one so my brake lights came on sooner (I had to press it down nearly an inch before the lights came on). There are some vaccuum lines under there too, that I moved aside. I'm pretty sure that they don't have anything to do with the cruise though. Does anybody have a manual or any ideas that can help me out?

I know nothing really about your situation other than the sensor could have been the one that is connected to the cruise control part. See, when you press the brake, cruise control is disabled. This may or may not be related to it, but see if you can fix that sensor and try that.2001 Black Z28 M6
Sprayed, slotted, geared and more~

I already tried a little with that sensor. I have just enough slack in the wires to reach the sensor (just a little button that is released when the pedal is pressed). I drove around trying to set the cruise and pushing that button off and on. Didn't make a difference.
Anybody else have an idea?~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

Sounds like you covered most of the basics, did you check the cables on the throttle body to make sure maybe they didn't come off or break.1999 Silverado- Bagged, colormatched and rollin on stock chrome 16\'s
Make love not war, hell do both, get married

OK, I have the same problem on my 98 and I think I know when mine stopped working. Ready for this.....
I think my button is broken. Just before my CC went out my button was stuck in the off position. I gave it a little more force then normal and the button popped in turning on CC. After that the button never felt the same and my CC stopped working. All the fuses are fine. I just have not had time to figure out how to get the button off. I think I just broke a little plastic part inside which can be fixed with JB Weld. You might want to check the button if you can get it off. I'll give it a shoot today too.White 98 Camaro with t-tops leather and Y87. For more info on mods just ask.
1/4=14.9
2002 Xterra V6 A4

Well, I worked on it outside till 3:00AM last night. Yeah, there's still snow on the ground. It was cold out there. Anywho...I fixed it. It was that stupid sensor on the brake pedal, the upper sensor. It was adjusted out like 1 turn to far. Turned it back in a little bit, and it didn't work for the first few tries, then finally it decided it would work. I dunno what the deal is, but it's fixed again. I can go into more detail if it is needed later.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

Yeah, that is the cruise control switch. I have the shop manual at home that details how to set the correct clearances and has pictures if anyone needs it. Well, it's working now, so I assume it's working right, but... It would be cool if you go ahead and give the directions to fix it, for future people's searches.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope
