  • Check engine light... whats your guess...

Jsut through a code and the car stumbled pretty hard, and occasionlly stumbles at around 4k under WOT, in every gear...

I plan to get it checked out soon, but I missed the games I had in my 3.4L of guess that engine code!(no easy way of scanning it)

        nope...

only ran open TB at track I am not stupid...

its been like a week or two since last trip to track...

I am thinking misfire, I am got an intermittant SES light that was blinking, doesn't that signal misfire? Also car stuttered real bad for a bit, today, but most part runs seemingly ok until WOT pass in upper RPMs...

went to autozone, oddly enough tey were too busy at midnight to pull my codes.

here's the problem I had and you can decide if yours is similar
car ran fine under very little gas half throttle or so the car seemed to miss/hesitate/stutter horribly then seemed to be fine when I cruised in fourth gear at a steady speed. For some reason the RPM's seemed to not want to go over 4,000, so I held it in second gear till ~65 mph and the RPM's seemed to hold at around 4,000 and then jumped to 5,000 and my SES light came on and started to blink.
                that was the description
the problem turned out to be a bad (I think cracked) spark plug
                hope it helps

It's ignition related. Check your plug wires first. I had kinda the same problem and it was a cracked wire.

i've got a predator that reads GM OBD-2 codes , and will be on ucf campus tomorrow at 5:00

If your available any time before that, i can scan it for you.

But flashing, is normally a misfire.

Anytime a SES is thrown the code is stored in the PCM. The light doesn't have to be on for them to read a code.

The codes can only be deleted by resetting the PCM.

Thats my thought! I was kind of baffled when they said that, even though this is my 1st OBDII car still I thought codes were stored unless pcm is reset or after a certain amount of starts, but at discount auto, they said they cannot ready stored codes only codes with the light on their scanner said their were no codes, went to autozone, I check the same scanner and asked the told the guy scanner didn't work and asked if it will read stored codes, he said no...

                              will a predator work?
