My SES light comes on and off pretty often. Car is running fine and I don't think about it too much, but I have to pass inspections soon. The only consistency I can figure out is that the light comes ON when engine temp +ambient temp is > 270 degrees. So it doesn't come on in the mornings or at night when its cool. I changed the insulation on the fuel lines for aesthetic purposes (looks all shiny now) and that seems, strangely enough, to have helped.

My coolant is a little iffy, but seems to be working. Its not leaking and the temp never gets over 210 or so (though it always goes to 210), kind of a nasty color because I accidentally mixed green and orange. Oh well.

Had an oil change about 600 miles ago. Its kinda been doing this since I bought it but it stopped during the winter and now its coming back. Whats up?

How much did you mix together? Green and orange don't like each other.

Edit: Also, take the car to Advanced auto to get it scanned. Give us the code.

thats not really the problem I don't think, the problem was there before I got the colors mixed up (I'm actually colorblind, so I ask other people what it looks like:()

Will take it in eventually, but since its not really giving me trouble I'm pretty easy about it

actually color blindness has little to do with seeing color. Its telling the difference thats the kicker. look it up
