2001 3.8 cylinder heads on a 1997 3.8 engine

Will this work? I already tried doing a search. I've seen pictures of the 2001 and 1997 intake manifold gaskets and they are completely two different ones. The holes for the intake are in different spots for the two years. The reason I ask is because I have a spare set of heads off a 2001 and wanted to port and polish them. Then put them on my '97.
