Spray some wd40 on the bolts and let it sit, then try again the next day.

this is a prime example on why you SHOULD NOT use seafoam in your engine

      especially a higher mileage one

If it's a 3.4 you need to remove the oil level sensor before the pan will come loose.

          What motor is this?
If you're replacing the Oil pump on the 3.8, you need to remove the timing cover. If it's a 3.4 the rest of this post will be useless.

There's an oil pick-up tube inside your oil pan that needs to be disconnected before the pan will come down. I think they're 8mm bolts.

Additional note, I doubt it's your oil pump. Something is probably stuck in an oiling hole somewhere. I'd flush it again to see if it knocks the deposit loose.

If you're bored, pull the valve covers off your car (one side at a time) and start it, you can then find out which valves (techincally rockers) are tapping... and which bearing is clogged up. (maybe)

** ADDITIONAL NOTE - I have 130,000 very hard miles on my DD Firebird, and I flush it from time to time with no problems - I hate varnish deposits and the Gunk engine flush I use seems to help my car get rid of the stuff that can slow it down.

          ... just fyi.

Make sure to post your results or what you find to be the problem!
