What am I missing??? need your help

Ok, so that rifle I had, I traded a guy straight up for an 01 Camaro 3.8 fully loaded with 57k on the motor and trans.

Now he t-boned a minivan. I know the rails, and some of the fender assy needs replaced. I have decided to take me 97 shell, and have a frame shop chop my front frame off the 97 and graph it on the 01. Now I know there were some changed to the 01 that differ from the 97.

Excluding the obvious, fenders, hood, bumper, impact bar and absorber, headlights, brackets, intake lid and bottom part of air intake lid, and radiator, what am I missing?

Just need to know whats all behind the frame, coolers, anything special that the 01 had that the 97 did not.. was the batt/ rad overflow different? was the coolant res. different?

was the rad support/ cover different?

Now in N/W ohio, wrecked camaros are hard to come by... so I just cant go to a bone yrd and find one..

anyone know of anything?

Also, once an airbag deploys, the modual is nolonger any good right? like I couldnt reuse it...

beyond the engine, yeah.. it just looks REALLY bad because they took a torch to the upper frame rails, and bent the hell out of the wheel wells to take the spot welds out. they were going to fix it, but decided to shoot an assult rifle instead. i aint *****ing. both airbags are blow, and the winshield needs replaced (got one on my 97) but it has the monsoon sound syst. total black interior, power everything including dr. seat, STOCK T TOPS.. and the only reason Im trying to save this car, is because of the stock t tops.. dont have to worry about leaks.. other than that, I seriously thought about taking EVERYTHING out of the 01 and putting every line, wire, bolt I could into my 97, but since the top of the roof doesnt come off, and i dont want to loose anything in the process, I decided to get a quote. was quoted $400-$500 for the graph.. but I got my stimilus check and what I made off the part out, just to make sure I have atleast a grand, JUST IN CASE they find something they need to fix.. these guys take twisted race cars and make them straight again...


course I thought about switching the VIN plates out, so I dont have to mess with the salvage title BS... lol my 97 is clear.. lol that illegal? hahaha

dude i would part it out
you already did the t-top conversion on your 97 you can stop leaks with minor tweaks
i would be much more afraid of the little problems you would get out of the 01 in the future.

well. i'd stick with the 97 frame altogether. but that's just me.

other than that, 98+ had 4 channel abs, prior to that it was 3. 99+ had drive by wire, aka electronic tb. so the pedal assembly and tb's will be diff, as will the PCM pinouts. the newer maro should also have tubular exhaust manifolds. 98+ A/C had diff. connectors then Pre-98's did. obviously body panels are diff, but i think the frame remained the same. the rear ends will be diff from the abs change. thats all i can think of for now...

my bad, god has corrected me again,

i thought they did change the brake system on the 98's but

now i realize that was only with the traction control option

thats why this is a FORUM

i find it funny that you feel like you have to watch over me instead of just providing the right info.

If I was watching over you I would tell you every time your wrong. Not just when I've had enough. Most of your technical information is wrong or only half there.

The 97 body is all jacked up. the rails under the door are messed up, rear panel has a slight dent. These frame guys are good at what they do, the front frame is welded to the car anyways, no biggie..

and no, Im not parting out the 01 to you scavangers! lol the dash pad isnt even cracked... lol
trust me, it looks worse than what it really is. lmao.. so aslong as the frame is the same, then I can just take the parts out of the 97 and be done with it..

are the parts on my 97 the same parts on the 01? I am talking about the radiator, ac cond. fans, everything in front of the engine... coolant res. over flow/ batt tray, all of thats the same right?

Any help would be great, The motors are about to taken out and the cars are going to the frame shop...
