  • oil pressure sender trouble

I knocked the oil pressure sender off by accident the other week while changing my oil filter on my 94 3.4 (don't ask why I didn't just get it from underneathe). Anyway, I put the oil pressure sender back on minus the rubber o-ring that fall off, but my oil pressure only sits at about 1/4 according to the guage in the dash. Its the same at idle or at speed.

Should I replace it or is it doing it's job?

On the brightside, at least the housing that it screws into isn't cracked.... lol

    I would replace it...

I think when you remove it you need to put sealant on thread. I have had to remove mine and my oil pressure decrease too.

I don't know about on the 3.8 but on my 3.4 there's no thread. It just hooks up by pushing it on. Is that normal or am I missing something here?

nvmd...there is a thread...its just that the pressure sender separated from it. I'll get a new one.

Where should my oil pressure sit after I replace it?
