Nikos made a good point about the 3.8 being a Buick motor, cause actually it is. Basically they converted the 3.8 from the Buick sedan lineup into a RWD setup for the camaro. my guess the reason they did this was because the mid 90's mustang gt's were rated at 215hp. knowing this, gm decided to continue to use the LT1 camaro which was hands down faster than the mustang, along with a v6 that, with a few mods, could run with the gt. so if it wasn't for gm taking the easy way out to kick ford in the ***, the v6 camaros still would have been the 3.4, at least until 97/98, when both company's decided to step it up another notch on their v8's.

hell I am running 16.1's without touching the motor. just an SLP intake, Headers connected to the stock exhaust, underdrive pullies, aluminum driveshaft, 22mm rear sway bar, BMR LCA's, Spohn LCA relocation brackets, transgo shift kit, H&R springs, KYB AGX adjustable shocks, 245-50-16 tires, and a little weight reduction. I was running 17 flat bone stock so 9 tenths just for reducing rotating mass and a little suspension work is just awesome. oh and its an auto too lol got my high flow cat and rumbler exhaust put on the other day and can't wait till my MSD DIS 4 and FPR go in. and when the tax return comes in I am putting a Tornsen T-2R differential in along with a set of richmond 3.73 gears. mid/low 15's here I come
and yes the peak RPM for the 3.4L is 4600rpm stock. is sucks badly. I am currently saving to do the 3400 top swap.95 Firebird
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250
http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/

me on a good day------> linky

The 3.4 is quick. 1st gear can take most imports but you better finish the race early or they might sneak up on you. I drove an acura integra ls, the kid bragged on an on how his car was so much faster. I put it an first and floored it, it had no pickup comared to mine but those things can wind up pretty high. With my exhaust some guy didnt believ me that it was a v6. I had to argue with him for 30 mins, he said no way.1995 3.4L M5 Camaro
Bullet Performance Exhaust, K&N FIPK, Stage 1 clutch, Short shifter, Hotchkis STB, Taylor Ignition wires, NGK spark plugs

i think 20-30 rolls are really nice, the 3.4 (A4's) gets a pretty good jump at those speeds.1995 Bluish green 3.4l Camaro.
Bone stock right now lol!
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042355

The 3.4L V6 is a flat tappet camshaft which means that over time the cam lobes will wear down. I remember when I removed my stock camshaft, I was AMAZED at the sight of the lobes. Most of them were almost all rounded which means that I was getting very little lift and any RPM range. This will obviously affect top end power when that lift is crucial. If you have a high-mileage engine, a small cam would really help regain your power.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

Well just to add here this 95 camaro with its 3.4 is far from my starter sports car. I also had a 1989 Iroc with a LT1 dropped in with a 5spd man, that was my first that I picked up when I was 15 and built out of a junk yard *learning expierience guys, try it*. That one was knocked at 411 hp rear wheels, and now I am also looking at picking up a '97 SS.
I figured I would buy this one because the guy let it sit to rot! And I figured with the price it was something to have fun with and build. The 3.4 and the 4.3L 6's are GM's main v6s that run Super Six dirt track racing so I know they have the potential. I figure once I am done with it, it will go to my little brother as a 21st birthday present as long as he behaves and doesn't get any more speeding tickets. But we got 2 years to wait so we will see what he does lol.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate
