do i have to use a/c Oil?

i was going to buy freon at walmart. it comes with a guage. but doesnt come with oil. is the oil in a seperate container? i'm guessing yes.

normally its already in the can. go to your local parts store and find one with the oil in it already.. you should be fine if you have never taken the AC units apart.. just recharge it.

what exactly are you doing?

if you took your compressor off, etc, then you should buy a can and fill it yourself

if you are low of refrigerant then i would just put the freon in, you dont need to buy a seperate can of oil and suck it through the system

i did that once, and my compressor started making an awful grinding noise before it blew out the front seal and quit working

i bought a can of freon at walmart for like 19.00. has oil in it and a guage.

all i ever did was replace the radiator and fan.. so i had to unbolt something and it sprayed the freon out of it.

the can i bought says 18oz. is that enough, not enough or too much?

cuz if its too much then i can get a smaller can for 6 bucks and save money

hook it up and fill it with the engine running, a/c on max high, and fill it until the pressure gauge read in the white.
