    I would definately say to change out the filter first ... almost the same thing happened to me, but after the filter swap, all was good again and has been for about 2000 miles.
    \'97 Firebird 3.8 ... 1/4 mile = 12.50 (minutes)

      To check the actual pressure you need to hook up a known, good mechanical gauge to the port where the sending unit goes. Then drive the car around and see if the REAL oil pressure is actually the problem. If not, then it's something with the sending unit and you're lucky. If the pressure is low on the mechanical gauge, then you know it's something with the actual oiling system.

        it was the oil.. just changed it and its back to normal.
