  • Turn Signal Socket

My front right turn signal light bulb went out so I went to replace it and the entire socket was melted (charred all over, and a lot of the plastic turned to goo); not sure how it happened...but obviously I'm going to need to replace it. I picked up ACDelco Part LS54 from my local dealer. It's exactly what I needed but cost $60! Anybody know where else I can get this for a lesser price?

Should I just go to a junkyard and cut it out of a car? Is this a universal part, or Camaro's only?

Just used the search feature, and found most people had to get this from the dealer, which I did. I'd like to hit up a junk yard though and take this one back - is this a universal socket (in GMs) or should I have to pull it off a 4th gen Camaro or what?

i had the same problem with my clear corners and the bulb burning out. i just took out the whole lens and drilled a few small holes into the bottom plastic so that any water that got in would drain out. i replaced the bulb and haven't had the problem since

Yeah, mine is with the clear corner lenses as well? Is this happening because of the moisture accumulating in there, and causing problems? I guess I'll replace the socket and drill some holes as well.
