Re: Something's missing out of my 3800's intake tubing

Got in touch with the original owners son this afternoon. He's a guy I went to high school with and I got his gf (My friend) to ask him what was wrong with it, he told her it was just the timing chain. So now to pick up a new timing chain and put it on along with the IAT sensor and hopefully BAM!! 3.8 Workin good and strong.

Just the timing chain? If someone messed that up it could mean death to some valves, heads, pistons, pushrods, lifters and rockers maybe. That's a decently tough install so learn up on it and be prepared. what the heck.. Is it even running at all right now?

no but when you try to crank it it'll try. We have to jump it because the battery is dead, and when I crank it up I guess it wont turn over, but it'll try. As far as the install I picked up one of those manuals from advanced about 3 weeks ago. so I guess I'm good.

Did you ever get the starter tested? Take it to advanced or somewhere, I believe they'll test it for free.

I'll try, but then again this advanced is an advanced where one employee uses and OBDII Scanner on an OBDI car and also thinks a camaro is a Sebring
