Theres a small crack in my left turn signal lens thus causing moisture to build up and short out my bulbs. However, I tried for a short time today to remove the lens, but i can't seem to take it out. Do i need to remove the headlight first?
I don't know what it is.. but I always have a hell of a time putting the headlights back in. But you should know there is an access panel below the corner markers closed with 1 bolt/screw. I've had no problems installing or removing the corner markers from there.
98 what? Firebird or camaro? Since you're talking about a housing, I'm willing to bet it's a Firebird, in which case, removing the entire headlight is NOT the best way to get at it. Underneith the front corners of the front bumper, there is a trap door in each corner, held on by 2 screws. From there, you can easily access the three bolts that hold the housing in place
whoops. 98 camaro, my mistake. I had all 3 screws out today, and something seemed to be preventing me from pulling it out... however i only tried for like 5 minutes so i'll take a look at it tomorrow with the headlight removed. Guess i'll go ahead and try to wetsand my headlights since it'll be out of the car already.
yes taking the head light out makes it alotttt easier. like above, 2 bolts hold in the head light, then its on slider brackets behind the light. so just push it in toward the center of the car, it will slid out.
My original turn signal lens met up with some road trash. Cracked it in half. Took out the headlight lens assembly then you are looking down on top of the lens assembly for the turn signal. 3 little screws and some moving around and out she came. Good Luck all.
