Do I need to install a manual fan switch as well? If so, how do you do this? Thank you

If your car is getting hot all the time then there is something else wrong causing it.

What are the problems etc. you are having and what have you done?

Yeah a manual fan switch would be a good thing to do. And also thoroughly flush your radiator.

Fan mod instructions can be found here:

still reading hot? that's weird. I got a 160 thermostat and a Manual Fan Switch in my car. i haven't used the fan switch yet, but just the 160 thermostat keeps my car at about 165-170 degrees. The only time you'll need a fan switch is when your sitting in traffic for a long time on a hot day or at the track to cool your car quicker.
I know that thermostat can get stuck sometimes, maybe that's the problem.
        how hot is it getting?

The engine temp gauge in our cars are NOT the most accurate in the world! ;) Use Autotap to read the ECT sensor to get an accurate reading.

what I was just gonna say, actaully its not accurate at all, when the gauge was reading 200 my OBD-2 read 170...so eh, ya dont trust that gauge if you really want get a little gauge pod and put a ECT gauge in it that actaully works

I think the codes are off cause they run on differnt sesors + heated wires get resistance and can give a little off reading. But yeah, what temp is it running. My car with a CAI runs @ 180 perfectly. on both the car gauge and computer read out. ( engine bay being cooled by fans and hood open). when I had the stock air box it would stay at about 205- ( Im talking same sitting of temp checks. ) but in trafic it'll still heat up.
