Whenever my car is starting and the temperature is above 95 or so, I feel and hear a little knock or jerk right when it starts, then it smooths out. I'm using cheap *** gas, so thats probably part of the problem, but...thats probably not going to change anytime soon. anything I can do?

you could try cycling the key on an extra time & see what happens with more fuel in sys on start up.
