  • What is wrong?

When I hit my power window switch when I'm sitting still (once it is up or down all the way) it makes the dial on my RPM gauge jump up to different rpm levels. I never noticed it until now, what do you think the problem is? When I'm driving it doesn't do it.

You're putting a load on the alternator causing the computer to compensate by adjusting engine speed. Nothing to worry about although if your battery is old it probably will be needing replaced sometime soon.

If thats true then I just learned something new. :) It makes sense. I did however solve my low voltage numbers but installing larger gauge ground wires like most people have on this site.

your using more power than when your not touching it. so your drawing the power cause it to work harder, might make the rpms to jump a few
