Redline Water Wetter

I think I'm going to pick up some redline water wetter this week. Seems like good stuff (chemistry ftw) and not real expensive- worth a shot. Anyone tried it before? I'm curious as to how effective it is. Please state your observations along with where your from/ambient temperature in summer. Its dang hot in texas

It reduces the surface tension of water so you don't get bubbles and hot spots. They claim a 30 degree temp reduction, but that seems unlikely, however, seems like a good thing none the less, especially if you run pretty low antifreeze like I do (usually anyway, I think i'm 60/40 right now). Its basically dish soap.

i use it as a rust inhibitor because i run water in my car. water + 2 bottles of water wetter seems to work very well in my car even with the 110 degree heat the car sees here on az.

bought it, changed to about 70/30 and dumped it in. I still hang at 210, but it takes longer to get there! Sometimes it only goes to 190 or so at night.

I'm impressed.

figure the bottle is only like 10 bucks so its worth it :)

I've heard a lot about it but now I'm intrigued. I wouldn't expect huge temp drops but if it can keep it a little cooler longer during the day and cooler overall at night I'd try it.

you have do up your water ratio for it to be effective, since it only affects the water, not the antifreeze which, of course will be helpful in itself (unless you live in the artic north)

I ran some in my s10 for awhile. It helped alittle bit. It would still get hot, it just took longer to get there. I ended up switching fans and it made a huge difference. I went from running 220+ to never getting over 210 even on 90+ days.

you do realize that your stock temp gauge is just a dummy gauge and is, in no way, an actual indication of your engine temp?
