Well I'm getting the fuel pressure checked out tomorrow see if thats good does anyone know what the pressure should be? Could it also be the fuel pressure regulator? But it dosen't do it all the time it's like this if the car is off for more then hour then it takes about 3-4 seconds to start but if it's off for less it fires right up.

but did ya think before you spoke? not tryin to be an ***...just trying to figure out how and why you would even think of associating an alternator with a hard start.......it really has nothing to do with it....not even close...wtf is a rectifier anyways??

Well it just sounds like you're loosing pressure in your lines.. and this was the first I've learned of a check valve in the fuel filter but that's a good place to start. I'd say go to autozone or somewhere of the sort, get a new fuel filter since they are cheap and change it yourself. It's easy. If you need help doing it then there are a ton of people here more than willing.

BTW to temporarily fix the problem turn the key to the on position for like 10 seconds before you start it to let the pump prime. Ah, you already knew that. I'm just reading through all the posts now lol. Truekoa had the same problem but worse.

think before i speak??! you don't even know what a rectifier is lol; it's the thing in your alternator that converts a/c to d/c. i know i said three different things but he wants some where to start! sorry, i don't mean to be an jerk lol

Well thanks for your help guys I figured it out turns out it was the fuel pressure regulator I replaced my self it was easy thanks again.
