cold air intake = SES?

  • cold air intake = SES?

    well i got my chromeintakes cai and i installed it, i love it, but today my ses light came on.
    i know i saw a thread around here where some guy had the exact same problem but i cant find it, can someone explain why this happened? or just tell me what the other guy did.

    Make sure the IAT is plugged in and clear the code.

      ok so twice today my alarm has went off for no reason at all.
      does that have any thing to do with my SES light

      btw i took the alarm sensor out of the car a while ago cause it was ****, (the one in the spare tire well)

        thats why the slarms going off, its probably shorting.

        did you damage the maf or iat while putting the intake in?

          what the hell. Scan the code. Duh. Then you'll know more specifically what is wrong. I'm leaning towards the IAT like ssms said. Either way, scan the code.. common! :rant: <-- I've been waiting to use that one for a good reason.

                I had a similar issue when I had my GA. It ended up being the wire harness that the IAT sensor connects to. The wires were too taut and ended up breaking away from the harness while still appearing to be connected.

                But get it scanned first to be 100% sure it is the IAT.
