yea if u dont seal that break in the EGR it will tick and drive you completely ape****...and i have no clue about the cylinder order, tho i'd imagine it's straight back, 1,2,3,4,5,6...i know the firing order is 6,1,2,3,4,5.

          Re: intake manifold tips

Are we talking about 3.8 or the 3.4??

On the 3.8 the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2

          Cylinder numbers (drivebelt end-to-transmission end)

Left Bank (driver side) : 1-3-5
          Right Bank (pass side): 2-4-6

Information pulled from Chilton manual. Again this is for the 3800.

Every question you asked is covered in this manual, if you are an amateur this is your bible. I am very impressed. Runs 23.xx with tax, unless you know an employee and get it for $11 lol. Best investment I have made so far.

There is a tightening sequence for the intake mani gasket, hope you at least got the torque specs. 132 in-libs on those (12) bolts.

Do not do that. You will have problems.

so put the wires to the ignition in 1-6-5-4-3-2 order. thanks and yeah i do need a chiltons manual. the day i started this my buddy was over and had one, thats how i knew what to label them and everything. but he only stayed for like 10 minutes and so now putting it back together is pretty tough.

Are you talking about where the plug wires go into the coil packs? If so, the stock coil packs are numbered where the wires go. If you don't have original coil packs, the plug wires go into the coil packs from front to back 6-3, 2-5, 4-1

                      Re: intake manifold tips

Are you referring to the paper housing gasket or the rubber gasket around the thermostat itself? If you're putting a new thermostat in, I would replace the rubber gasket but it isn't entirely necessary if it's not damaged. The paper gasket on the housing should be replaced, if there is one.

ok theres one piece that i cannot remember where it goes. the pictures wont work so ill have to try and describe it. its just a black metal bracket type piece that holds up part of the fuel line i think. (not the actual fuel lines, but the line that has the shrader valve on it) its just got a little clip type thing for the fuel line to hook into and it goes on the passenger side i think and i cannot remember where it bolted into.

Thats all your Evap crap on the pass. side , but if you say there is a shrader valve on it that is your fuel rail with your injectors which will have 2 nuts on each side holding it on the upper intake.

There's a test port on the EVAP line with a schrader valve on it as well. As for where it goes, I would have to see a picture of the part and of the engine. I've been going off of memory so far. I don't have a 3.8 motor here to look at.
