  • Temp Gauge

Ive read on the board that our temp gauges are not all that accurate, but how off are they? When I first got my car in october I replaced the thermostat with the stock temp (i think its 195) and a new coolant temp sensor because the car seemed to be running hot. I also backflushed the coolant system. When I hooked it up to the snap on scanner it said the fan was coming on right around 225* which is when it should come on. But when Im sitting still for about 10 minutes the gauge is just below the red and then the fan kicks on and brings it back down to about midway. I dont know I just had to vent cause even though the car is not overheating it gets on my nerves to watch the gauge climb so high. Im worried if the car did ever overheat that I wouldnt know until it was too late.

    Later,
    Mike
