  • Jacking up your car.

What can i use to jack up my car so that i can actually use my creeper. Everytime i have to fix something under there I end up on a piece of cardboard trying to move around. I've been thinking about just getting some ramps for the front wheels for more clearance. Most of the high clearance floor jacks I see are selling for around $100, which is more than i wanna pay for comfort right now.

just get a normal floor jack (nowhere near 100 bucks) and jack stands (not expensive) and youre good to go

ramps will not give you enough room to use a creeper, thats for sure

What I'm using right now is a basic jack with stands and like i said, it's too low. So basically what I'm gonna have to go for is the expensive high clearance jack if i wanna use the creeper, right?

Basically anywhere that I would need to fix. Last time i had a problem with it I was replacing the transmission mount.

Whatever you do, please don't go under there without stands or ramps. Unless you believe in natural selection. I think you know better than that though.

ramps can be had cheap. If you are really on a budget you can easily make ramps out of wood. My brother did. My car doesnt clear the rhino ramps without driving it up on wood first.
When you get the funds i highly reccomend the aluminum racing jack from pepboys. I paid like 130 for mine and it fits under my car with ground effects no problem and the jack only weighs 28lbs. Def worth the money

I would never be so stupid as to climb under any car without jack stands supporting it. So basically I need to look around Wal-Mart for a high clearance jack and some ramps. Sounds good.

they have ones that are meant for trucks. that would definatly hold it up high enough for you

I'm guessing your jack stands aren't at max height. Just jack it up as far as you can get it, then put it on the jack stands, and put a couple 2x4s between the car and the jack to get it higher, and make the jack stands higher.
