  • Service Engine Soon [o2 Sensor?]

I was leaving my house yesterday and i got about halfway to where i was going and noticed the my dashboard had Service Engine Soon.

    Son of a *****.

Ok. so i ran into auto zone had the run the computer on the car and he said its something with my o2 sensor.

guys got any clue, he said something wasnt reading. He said i can still drive but its going to **** up my gas mileage.

called a shop they said 75, for labor plus parts, which is $52.00-75.00.

You guys got any idea of what it could be?
I really dont want to pay 150+ to get it fixed, if i can do it myself.

There are 4 O2 sensors on your car, which one is it?

it's probably your 02 sensors; matter of fact i'm changing my as soon as they come in. it does actually f up your gas mileage if you keep driving it in that condition.

change them yourself; that's what i'm doing.

            check out my post.

not that difficult; you just have to splice them wires.

            02 sensors have pigtails

02 sensors have pigtails, no wire splicing needed. If its the 3rd O2 sensor, its probably the pre-cat sensor, which is probably the easiest one to change, just get a sensor socket, take it off, put it on, pretty simple.

Thats correct. The one after cat is virtually worthless, I have a O2 simm I could sell you if you want to just remove the post cat and use it in the pre-cat. They don't work with my 95 wiring harnass, so if you're interest in it shoot me a PM. I'll let it go for $30 shipped, brand new, never used.
