• Rough Idle... i need an opinion

I have a 98 white Camaro. Sometimes while being in idle, I get a pretty rough idle. Thats even when the car has been running for a while. Is it because of un-burned gas? The majority of the time I use 87 octane, but have occasionally used 89. thanks

What do you mean by rough idle.. High RPM's ?? engine running really hard ??

most of the time when you use a higher octane and go back down to regular 87 your car will dislike 87. you might have knock?

your car is probably re-burning used gas.
i'm sure you need tuning- doesnt everyone?
i bet it idles lopey or "pulsates" like its about to die (idle needs to be set higher)

Ahh not so much the car reving up. Just more vibration in the car. And sometimes the Oil pressure gauge is below 60... sometimes closer to 40. Does that mean anything?? By the way, the car only has 32K on the original engine.

And our engines by nature are not exactly smooth at idle, even when running perfectly.

Hehe tell me about it .. Just got my idle from 2000RPM's down to 700 and it still feels high. LOL at least i'm not the only one that thought that mighta been normal.
