From time to time, while I'm releasing my clutch to accelerate, I get this metallic noise that almost sounds like an exhaust pipe dragging the ground. To date, however, there's nothing dragging the ground.
if the clutch isnt fully engaging, you would feel somewhat of a shaking on acceleration, wouldnt you?
depends. if it wasn't fully engaging because of a faulty pressure plate the clutch would slip during accel, but not shake. it would shake if the clutch wasn't fully disengaging the flywheel when you engage the pedal. that's a simple fix though usually. but that's not what i'm saying is wrong.
clutch chatter is when the clutch isnt fully engaging, or seating to the flywheel completely.
with bone still running on a stock clutch, it's likely to be chattering.
You may have just answered my question, but this morning I was getting this noise while sitting in neutral with my foot off the clutch. Sound like chatter? Could a bad throughout bearing have something to do with this?
It literally sounds like I'm dragging my exhaust pipe at about 15 MPH. At first, I thought I was bottoming out on a speed bump, but that wasn't the case.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
