  • Serpentine Belt... Please Read

I have a 96 camaro WITHOUT ac.. therefore I am one pully short so the belt has to be shorter as well.. Now.. I bought the car this way.. but when I go to buy a belt, supposedly no such model ever came out.. it looks original both inside the car(controls) and the engine.. Anyone know anything about this? Or where I can get a high quality belt for my car, and not some cheap piece of crap designed to work for another car? Please help me out if possible.. thanx

Or take a piece of string and route the string as you would the belt. Mark the string when it meets the end. Take it off and measure the string from the end to your mark. Take that measurment to the parts store and get that length belt. ;)

You might want to put *some* tension on the tensioner pulley (get help) so your measurment will factor in this pulley and create a better grip. Or just subtract an inch or so from the measurement from above...

this is true. There are two listings, and the belts aren't really that much different in legnth. I ttook me about 5 belts to get mine down right. I think you will have an "idler pulley" or a/c delet pulley, since the two belts are almost the same legnth. I use a 685K6 for my setup ;)
