    Re: MSD plug wires

I am assuming you went with the 90 degree sockets right??

I did this a while ago, didnt put the heat sheilds on, no problems. Just make sure a wire isnt touching the header.

heat shield doesn't need to go back on as long as it is not resting on the header/manifold

          Re: MSD plug wires

I would leave the heat shields off, I have had the MSD 8.5mm 90 degree boot wires for several years with boot protectors worked great. I switched to stright MSD 8.5mm wires about 6 months ago with some new black heat protectors, the only problem with the straight wires is on #3 and #4 I run under the primaries on the RK sport headers. The boot protectors def. due their job, the only thing it leaves is a white mark on the boot protectors. The boot protectors are a good investment, I found a guy on ebay who sells them individually, I got mine for about $22 shipped, heat rated for 1200 or 1500 degrees(don't remember), good investment if your keeping the car awhile.
