Well today i brought my key into home depot to make a copy of it just in case, and i was told that there was an electric part of it, because there was that little rubber part half way down the key with a little piece of metal in it. So they couldnt make a copy. I have a 2000 firebird, is it true that you cant make copies? What should i do if that is the case?

But I'd just bite the bullet and get the key. Its retarted but on the bright side it makes it harder to steal the car.
which is good because are cars are a joke to break into. I can get into an f-body in 30 seconds -Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

normal locksmiths also have GM 'pellet keys' for a franction of the cost that a dealer will charge you. my local Ace Hardware made me an extra pellet key for $8 bucks. they have a little machine that reads which 'pellet' is on the key and then use the appropriate blank.
