  • Replacing airbags

So yesterday i wrecked my 02 bird and deployed the airbags, trying to find parts to fix it back up to new, and had a question about airbags. I'm looking on ebay for some and i found a set that comes with just the airbags.

Two questions, will ones pulled from a trans am work in a firebird? (pretty sure they would but just want to be positive) and what years are interchangeable?

Secondly, do i just need the airbags or do i need to buy another sensor or something?

Any help is appreciated, the dealer is definitely not an option on this one, I'm on a low budget.

      Re: Replacing airbags

you have to replace more than just the airbag. you have to get a new module or something too.

              Re: Replacing airbags

I am willing to bet the you crumpled your front drivers wrinkle zone, and that you are going to need not only exterior fascias, but a new radiator core support and headlight bracket as well.

and yes. You have to replace the module when replacing deployed airbags.

have fun getting the dash back to one piece.

and I'm willing to bet you also need a clock spring, frt sensors, condensor, evac and recharge, bumper brkts, absorber, hinges, labels, insulator, latch, washer reservoir, frame set up and pull, etc.
I take it you don't have collision coverage?
