  • misfire again...

    Hi,
I have a serious misfire with my 3.8L. It seems to appear around 2000rpm. If i drive under 30 mph the car run pratically good but if i push the pedal the car had no power and hesitate.

I have replace the coils yesterday, what do you think, spark plug wires?

    This car hate me...

I think you guys have different problems.. Codec, you should probably start a new thread for yourself.

Chevykid, drive your car around for awhile as best as you can and then park it. Look underneath at the cat to see if it's glowing red or even bubbled out in certain spots.

What are the symptom of bad spark wire. The first time when a coil blow i have had the same exact thing.

It's why i have bought a coil pack...

Wires. Dont buy local parts store wires. Go to a performance shop. Like Summit or Jegs. I am running Ford Racing 9mm wires with great results. I was replacing coil packs like crazy running Accel super sucks or even Borg Warner wires. When I got high performance wires, the coil pack burn outs went away, thank goodness, I was burning one up ever 4-6 months.

Try putting heat shielding on the wires as well.

What do you think of this:

                      http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

Shipping to france is not so expensive as other dealers and there are 8.5mm. I don't know if the wires are my problem. Di you know if the wires are the same in 98 and 2000? The seller tell me it will work but i want to be sure.

Does i could test the wires by unplug the wires one by one and test the car, if it run exactely the same, it's the bad wire.

I have test this on the first port of the first coil and the car made the same but worse.

                      Thx for your help
