  • Dipstick Problem, please help

I was removing the EGR system since I had Texas Speed disable it completely, and when the loosened the bolt that holds the dipstick to the EGR bottom plate, the dipstick tube pulled out of the block it looked like at the bottom. I pushed it back in, but Im VERY worried about it coming out again. I secured the dipstick in its original place again with wire to the engine mount, but is there a seal or something down there that might be shot? I dont wanna start pumping 60lbs of oil out of the car next time I start it up.

the dipstick is connected to the oil pan and the oil pan isnt pressureized by the oil pump like your thinking. its just fine.

K, well thats much more reassuring. So is there actually pressure there on the hole where the dipstick goes in?

What is the advantage of having your egr dissabled? Couldnt you just crip the tube going into it? im just wondering, id like to stop recirculating exhaust also.
