    Re: A/C Delete Nightmare!!!

anyhow, back to the topic, any kind of estimate on how much hp getting rid of the a/c compressor frees up?

that thing was pretty darn heavy and i imagine thats rotating mass that robs the engine of some power.

lol thanks man, apparently the pulley doesn't really take up that much power unless your AC is on so oh well.

we should make a collection of my threads and call it the "F Body How NOT To guide"
what happened to it? it seemed you bought most of... what was left, did you sell it?
I would definetly read that guide

im not sure.. i think theres a rule of thumb like -100 lbs = +10 hp
so... ~2.5 hp? mabey more if the A/C is on?

why did you need an idler pulley in the first place?

yes, that's teh old bird & the 3.4 when it ws getting swapped out for the 3800

i took the AC compressor out cuz it was a broken P.O.S.

ohhh i get it, you want me to just bypass it.

well to be honest, i think its safer to maintain the old belt route and i think it looks better not having a gaping hole in the accessory bracket (i'm gonna sell this car next summer)
