my passenger window rolls up from the driver side, but not down; from the passenger side, the window can be rolled down, but not up. the motor works fine, obviously, for i can get the window up and down.

alright, so here's what i found out with my circuit tester:

(keep in mind all the wires i am talking about ONLY have to do with the passenger side window)

there is a light blue wire (LB) that runs from the driver side window controls (those controls we'll call A) to the passenger side controls (those controls we'll call B)...there are no interruptions, it's just one wire, from A to B. from B, that LB wire changes to dark blue (DB) and then goes to the window motor. from both sides, i can get a power reading from the circuit tester when i push the "up" arrow. BUT the weird part is that the driver's button works--not the passenger button. so, somehow, the B
controls are letting the signal from A go through them, but they are not letting their own signals go through. very odd.

now, ther is also another odd thing happening. there is a tan wire that runs from A to B also, and it allows the window to go DOWN from the driver's side only. apart from the fact that i can't roll down the window from the driver's side, that tan wire ONLY gets power when i push the up button from the PASSENGER SIDE. wtf? it's a DOWN wire, and it's a driver's side ONLY
wire, but for some reason, it's getting power in the complete opposite position.

any ideas?

ok i didn't read all of that but i can take a stab in the dark.

If at 1 point of time the windows worked properly without anyone chopping any of the wires up, it is probably a switch on either side (or both)... you could pick them up at a parts store for like 10 bucks each i think (if that is the problem ).
