  • need help with a windstar

my dad just called me with a problem with his van and i dont know what to look for when he gets home. he said that pretty much all the lights on his dash went on while driving. brake, abs, od, check engine and whatever else. also his spedometer dropped to 0 and wont move now and his ac will only blow real hot air now.
i plan on scanning it when he gets here and maybe try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it to see if that resets anything.

    any ideas?

Sounds like he was driving down the road and the engine just stalled. You need to check for spark and then fuel pressure. Then go from there. Does it run?

My first thought is a loss of electrical power. It's sure to have set a code or two, so that's a start.

ok he just got home and i looked at it. first off, no it didnt stall it runs just fine.
the only lights on were abs and brake light. and his spedometer doesnt work and odometer it just dashes. and the ac thing but thats not as important.

could it be something like a wheel speed sensor or something?
