  • Replacement Fuel Injectors

Ok. Amongst a few other problems found at the shop, they finally figured out why the car has such a rough start and the horrid stench of raw gasoline. I have at least one leaky injector. This is no surprise, they already have 84,xxx miles on them. But, I was quoted $150 PER injector for a replacement, as well as labor of diagnosing which ones have gone bad. I got a second opinion and they said that sounds about right. But I've seen injectors for much more reasonable prices on here, both used and new. Right now, I just want to know what my options are for replacements, OEM and aftermarket. What are some good brands for a stock weight fuel-injector? What are some brands that have worked well for you?

I have not got new fuel injectors yet, but I have had the leaky injector problem.
Eventually, I'll get new ones, but temporarily I just replaced the O ring which was the issue anyways.

Do you know if its your O rings? Cause you can replace those really cheap.

Although, since you'll have them out, probably best to replace them anyways.
But if money is tight, you can replace the o rings, if that is the issue with them leaking.

I have a set of stock injectors for sale right now. Only 45,000 miles on them.

      $25 shipped.

BTW, injectors shouldnt go bad at 84k miles.

I may have to take you up on that. I went to the local NAPA store and found that I could get new stock ones for $86 per, but that's still a little high. I have to pay for a few other things first, but that definitely seems like a good deal.

And I'll have them check the O rings. Those were dirt cheap at Napa.

Check Summit Racing you should be able to get a set of Accel for around $250. They aren't that hard to change. I have a set of Accel that I think are 22# for sale if you're interested. If your car is stock it will run a little rich which is why I took them out of my 99 Firebird 3.8. They only have about 50 miles on them.

Thanks for the offer, but I got a spare stock set from another member. That and my car runs rich enough as it is with one leaky injector. Don't need anything heavier.

how are they working? its odd that Accel injectors make it run rich.. after all stock injectors are 22# also.
