Plus, if its the TB gasket which is only $5, why should he go thru all the trouble and cost of replacing headgaskets and intake gaskets????

You are giving him really round-about advice that doesnt make any sense. You have to find EXACTLY what the problem is before you start taking things apart and replacing things that arent broke.

i should probably add that i've been going for sarcasm in my 2 posts, apparently it is not that evident.

i agree with you completly on how to properly fix it. In fact i had water in my oil before (unrelated to coolant) and had to flush it 3 times before it was clean oil.

Sarcasm in this case is a bad idea.

well one thing i found out today that no one told me is that you have to change the oil after doing the intake gaskets because coolant gets in there when you take off the manifolds and whatnot. soooo the coolant in there could have been just the coolant that got in there from changing the gaskets. right now the oil is draining and it doesnt look that milky. looks dirty but i dont see anything that resembles coolant in it. im gunna fill it with cheap oil and drain it then with good oil like you said. ill let you all know the outcome later tonight.

everyone breaks the elbow when they remove the tensioner. i would not sell anyone a tensioner without selling them an elbow. there are two plastic elbows on the newer cars, on the older cars the bottom one with the purple o ring is made of aluminum and is part of the tensioner asmbley. gennerally the ones with the purple o rings dont break but the one with the orange will almost always break.
