I've got a HPP but it's the first one that they made specifically for the 3.4L. If it will work on a 94 it should work on a 95. I also bought a scanner tool for my car and I talked with the manufacturer for it, Auto-Xray or something, and he said the only difference between the 95 and 94s is the data port. The 94 and 95's both have OBDI electronics but the 95 comes with a OBDII data port. At least, this is how he explained it to me. I guess GM did this so they could try out the new 3.8L. I'd call Hypertech to make sure.

BTW, the price will be worth the performance gains especially if it has all those options on the website you posted. Mine can't do the recalibration for tire/gear swaps and I didn't notice any increase in shift firmness.

How long ago did you get the PP3 for the 3.4L V6. I wasn't aware that they were making them.

At least a year ago, I found it on ebay. The guy I had bought it when they first came out way back when. I paid around $300 for it.

I called Hypertech about the functionality of the programmer. The tech told me that they don't make them anymore so he couldn't tell me anything about it. I figured they'd have some documents somewhere, but oh well.

I have one if you want it. It won't work on the '95 because the plug is different on the car. Anyway I don't know if it works. I'll send it to you if you want it and if it works you could send me like $40. I'm trusting in your integrity. Let me know.

I have a '93 so the diagnostic link is a OBDI. Which connector does that PP3 have?

The HPP that I have came with a data port that is shaped like the OBDII.

                    ALso, mine's not a PP3. It's just a power programmer.

Shoot me your email and I'll send you a pic of the connector. joshharbin@charter.net

Anybody know of a good, i.e. "free", place for me to put some pics of my car on the internet?

Don't hold your breath. I did the same and it took them a while. They also weren't very helpful in their response. Just wanted to give you a heads up about my experience.

I e-mailed the website that listed it and am asking them specifically if it will work on 3.4L in 94.

Just some random thoughts on this whole programmer thing.

Maybe it does work because there was a programmer by hypertech back in the day, and maybe this one works like microsoft? ITs the new version but is still compatible with old software, like Office XP can read documents from Office back in the day of window 3.1.

Then I had the thought, its primarily used on Ls1 motors so it is most likely going to have a OBDII connector, and maybe will not physically connect with a OBDI computer unless you have an adapter.

Then I thought, maybe it will hook up to a 95 3.4L since it has the same port, but, maybe not becasue the wireing is goofy from GM from the port to the computer.

Just a bunch of random thoughts.
