I am a broke *** college student and my car just started misfiring. I just bought some plugs today and the wires are on order. Problem is, I have never done a plug and wire swap before and I refuse to pay a dealer $400+ to unscrew a few plugs and wires. Is there any step by step instructions for first timers such as myself to help me out so that i do not mess anything up? And what is the gap supposed to be set at for a 2000 V6 firebird? Thanks.

gap is .060 i believe?
to be honest it is cake, man. It took me an hour the first time to do plugs and wires, and 20 minutes every time after that.
Just take your time, don't get frustrated. the 2000+'s are EASY, be glad you don't have a 95-99.
just unbolt every wire, then undo the plugs on one bank. redo plugs, new wires. do the next bank. you'll need a 1 and 3 inch socket extension2011 Camaro LS 6M, in black.

factory setting is .060, but I hear .057ish is good, gives room for expansion.
you basically got it right, you unscrew it and put the new one in.
Only suggestion I can give is, do one plug, and one wire at a time. This way you avoid mixing them up and getting misfires.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

yep... they will be on pretty tight, I think my stockers actually seperated from the boot.
Try wiggiling them to get them loose.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251
