the new egr sits on new headers so that part is clean, so im guessing you mean there might be some gunk in the manifold area.

i checked the spark plugs and they all seem fine.

the plugs and wires were put in last may a year ago...

im looking up some coil prices now. seeing how much they go for.

    thanks
the plenum is just another word for upper intake manifold.

u know right where the egr enters the plenum? well that may have to be cleaned out.

and i know u don't wanna throw parts at your car but i would change the plugs and wires and see what happens. then u can test the coils and icm.

If the shaking started when you installed the "new" driveshaft wouldn't that make sense that it was the driveshaft? Parts do come defective or get damaged during shipping.
Ok, lets say it's not the driveshaft. If there was something wrong with his coils wouldn't the problem also show up even when he was in park or neutral? I highly doubt it's anything to do with your coils.
You'd better check the rest of the transmission components over again.

        Re: idle drops when stopping

when im on a red light the car is shaking. i slip into N and the car stop shaking, but i still feel the engine slightly (driver mirror doesn't shake) i slip it into D mirror and car shakes. as soon as i go (with the second delay that i spoke about earlier), the car doesn't shake. when i come to a stop, the rpms drop down to 600 up to like 850 then down to 750-700 and car shakes. i slip it into N rpm go to 850-900 car doesn't shake but feel/hear engine.

i mean i dont expect it to run perfectly it has 150k miles but the shaking is too annoying, especially on the pedals.

i think its a bunch of things that are wrong not just one.

i have no power until i reach 3 rpm, (acceleration)
and the exhaust sound seem broken when im driveing not smooth.

well i dunno, would the no cat and bigger headers make an issue?

bad coils for the rpm jumping...

what about this? the Y pipe from my headers is rubbing something and making car shake some... i dunno

then theres the fuel consumption and smell...

also another question to throw at you guys...
my oil temp moves up when ever i accelerate.
on a red light its between the center and 3/4 and moves back and forth a lil.

        ??

          That's oil pressure.. not temp.

What exactly do you mean by.. shaking? Vibrating maybe?

right, the pressure... is that normal?

shakeing vibrating. mirror goes like i have my two 12" kicking.

thats how i mostly drive with my music up so i dont know the diff.:)

but yea when its in D and im standing holding the brake, its shakeing the car...

              Re: idle drops when stopping

lol.. get the Y pipe off of whatever it's rubbing. That can cause a lot of vibration. Did you ever notice that pretty much besides the headers the rest of the exhaust is held in by rubber hangers? They do that for a reason.

When you say the car is shaking it makes me think that it's shaking as if the car wasn't firing on 1 cylinder but if it's a vibration, that's a whole other story.

Yeah the oil pressure should rise and drop with the RPMs.

                Re: idle drops when stopping

i dont know if that is the case with the y pipe, but if it is, that doesnt explain the bad gas mileage, rpms dropping issue, delay in acceleration issue, loss of power and broken sound exhaust issue.

might be from coils or icm, no?

maybe ill take a cell vid and post it here or somewhere and link it...

im so new to this site i dont even know how to add pics

once again i apreciate all the input, thanks fellas...

When's the last time you replaced your o2 sensors?

Yeah.. the better and more information you give us the better we can help.

                      [QUOTE]

wrong. coil packs are tricky in that only under certain rpms, the coil pack will act up. For instance, a high rpm misfire could be a bad coil pack even tho it may run perfect in the low rpms.

i should add again that having a fouled plug can often cause your car to shake violently. in a strange turn of events i installed my d.s. and was getting the worst shaking you could possibly imagine, and i thought thats what it was. turned out all i needed was some new plugs.

i'm not ruling it out entirely, but just keep your options open.

def. check for any rubbing of the drivetrain.

I can sort of agree ^^^^. I installed my intake, hopped in the car for a test drive...felt good under very little load. Then as soon as I went to pull out it missed like crazy. I pulled my hair out for a week trying to figure out what I could have done while I installed that intake. Ended up being the coil pack. Crazy. It would even rev clean in P or N, just like the guy in the OP.

:DAhh those are like you said TKO, tricky. As I have had no experience with a bad coil pack then you're probably better suited to help him with this situation. Just don't tell him to install an underdrive pulley :stp: I'm just kiddin :D
